Mansfield- The Mansfield Aviation Club has awarded scholarships to three aspiring young pilots.
Connor Arbaugh, a 2025 graduate from Ashland, has already earned his private pilot’s license and will apply his scholarship toward additional ratings, which will ultimately bring him closer to a career in the aviation world as an airline pilot. Connor will be attending Bowling Green State University, and majoring in Aviation Technology and Operations.
Aspen Payne is a 2025 graduate from Mansfield Senior High School. She has dreamed of becoming a pilot since she was 10 years old, and is still working toward her private pilot’s license, with the goal of becoming an airline pilot. Aspen will be attending Bowling Green State University and will be pursuing a degree in Aviation.
Lance Tucker graduated in 2024 from Hillsdale High School, along with an AA in Business Administration. In 2025, Lance graduated from Franklin University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He has since joined a local flying club and is attending Mansfield Aviation Club (MAC) meetings. He is close to earning his private pilot’s certificate, and wants to make a career out of aviation.
Throughout its history, the Mansfield Lahm Airport has served our community by being one of the finest general aviation airports in our state. The cost of flying has become more expensive, and many who had the dream to become a pilot may have found it beyond their financial means. MAC scholarships can help people fulfill their dreams and keep general aviation in our community vibrant into the future

MAC meets on the first Saturday of the month in the terminal building at Mansfield Lahm Airport. All are welcome!
Donations to our scholarship can be made to the Richland County Foundation.
